People who want to spend some leisure time in the midst of nature, pack your bags and come to Ooty! One of the beautiful places on earth, this hill station is located in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu in Southern India. Owing to scenic beauty, thousands of tourists make it a point to be in Ooty at least once in their lifetime. Both winters and summers are considered the best time to visit Ooty. There is a lot to explore in a hill station like Ooty, which cannot be covered in just one trip. Therefore, I am providing you the list of some of the best places to visit in Ooty.

Ooty Botanical Garden

Lush green and well-maintained Botanical Garden of Ooty is worth a visit. It has a wide variety of flora with over 650 species of plants that include flowering plants, rare trees, orchid, ferms and a 20 million year old fossilized tree. This garden is also known as a haven for birds.

Ooty Lake and Boat House

It is surrounded with clusters of eucalyptus trees from all the sides and provides boating opportunities to the visitors. They can have a glimpse of the flourished beauty of this place at a leisurely pace. You would find a mini garden close to Ooty Lake that has a toy train for kids. There is also an amusement park for children here.  Summers are usually considered as the best time to visit Ooty Lake and enjoy with your mates.

Stone House

It was built by John Sullivan and was reportedly the first concrete (pucca) house in Ooty. In the present time, this beautiful house is located within the Government Arts  College of this hill station.

Doddabetta Peak

It is about 10 km away from Doddabetta peak, which is 8652 ft above from mean sea level. Hence, this peak is considered as the highest point in the Nilgiri Hills. Enclosed within a reserved forest area, a visit to Doddabetta Peak is a must as it provides the breathtaking views of districts and towns.
